There are more than just one type of pellet. The pellets can be made not just of different grades of wood, and types of wood, but there are also other types of materials the pellets can be made out of. Things like paper, walnut shells, switchgrass and other materials have all been pelletized.

I am heating my house with a Traeger TPB-150 boiler. This boiler is built to primarily burn corn or cherry pits but will also work just fine to burn pellets. It differs from the standard pellet burning boiler by not having electronic ignition.
